When reading text we need to make INFERENCES and support our ideas with TEXTUAL EVIDENCE. This week while you are reading at home think about some things that you know are happening in your book even though they are not DIRECTLY STATED. Write what you know is occurring and give TEXTUAL EVIDENCE using direct quotes from your book.
EXAMPLE: In Ben Franklin: Organizing a Nation I know that Ben is well respected by his community because it says, "... The people of Philadelphia chose him to be their representative at the Second Continental Congress."
